There is always something happening in Stratford but two events show us at our artistic best.
The Stratford Garden Festival, one of Canada’s best regarded garden shows, March 3rd to 6th
You know that spring is not far away as one of Ontario’s earliest garden shows heralds the spring with Canada’s top gardening personalities and experts presenting “On the Edge” gardening. Frankie Flowers of CityTV’s Breakfast Television and Carson Arthur host of “Room to Grow” and Green Force”, as well as Paul Zammit, Beckie Fox and Shauna Dobbie, just to name a few, offer engaging talks and practical advice.
The show will feature 9 artistic display gardens and over 40 vendors to tickle those hibernating green thumbs and get the creative juices going in preparation for the season ahead.
The Release of the Swans, April 3rd at 2pm sharp!
Take all the music, drama and celebration that is Stratford, then add a waddle and a few tail feathers to herald spring and you have the Release of the Swans. One would think that it is an event of Wagnerian proportions, with these mighty birds bursting forth from their winter pens. But what you'll discover instead is a quirky charm as you join the feathery herd along their walk to the water—flat-footed silly swans, goosing each other along as they waddle and preen. Stay tuned for a whole weekend of exciting events, programmes and out-door displays celebrating our most famous citizens.
