Setting the Stage

The entire city is in on Swanning about Stratford. Swans on the Street is all about the shops in Stratford and the previewing of the Festival’s 2008 season. In the heritage district, merchants are bringing in swans of all kinds: swan jewellery, books, stained glass, photography, swans in chocolate and even swan teas. The window displays will be dressed up, and we have complimentary swan hats for everyone who is in the spirit of the weekend.

Preview the upcoming 2008 Stratford Shakespeare Festival season, with a special Saturday viewing of the upcoming season’s stage production and design maquettes at the Studio Theatre. The Costume Warehouse will also open its doors especially for the Saturday. You will appreciate the fruits of the long winter’s efforts creativity by the internationally renowned designers, prop masters and more.

During Swan Weekend, celebrate the Stratford Shakespeare Festival 2008 season.

• Costume Warehouse tours available Saturday, March 29 at 10 am, 11 am, noon, 1 pm, 2 pm, 3 pm and the last at 4 pm at 350 Douro Street. First come, first serve.
• Get a sneak preview of the production design sets for 2008 on display at the Studio Theatre, 34 George Street E on Saturday, March 29 from 10 am until 5 pm.
