Theatre,
music festivals, heritage and culinary tours are not all that are offered
throughout July and August. Stratford has a wonderful variety of events
and special exhibitions for all ages.
- Gallery Stratford summer exhibition
features Canadian artist Tony Urquhart’s mixed media works
entitled “Ambiguous Geographies: Unearthing the Work of Tony
Urquhart”
- Stratford Art
in the Park, every Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday (weather permitting),
along the Avon River from 9:00 until 5:00.
- Stratford Perth Museum presents
three exhibitions “Unhinged: Doors of
Perth County”; “For King, Queen and Country: Stories of Military
Service in Stratford and Perth County” and “Grains, Trains and
Automobiles”
- Castle
Kilbride brings together a collection of Victorian
and Edwardian fashions from the stage of the Stratford Shakespeare Festival
- Don’t
miss the Canadian
Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum just a few minutes
down the road in St. Marys
- St. Marys holds its annual summer celebration from
July 8th – 10th aptly
named the Stonetown
Heritage Festival with live music, children's activities,
a classic car show, food vendors, Saturday night street dance, fireworks
and much more
- The Stratford Heritage Antique Show and Sale takes place
in Stratford from August 6th to 7th
- The Stratford Shakespeare Festival presents
its acclaimed Celebrated
Writers Series with these year’s
writers in conversation, Rohinton Mistry, Dr. Izzeldin Abuelaish,
Dr. James
Shapiro
and Jane Urquhart.
