There is no truer expression of a region's unique geography and climate, than the food that is grown in its soils. Just as in winemaking, soils play a crucial role in shaping the quality and flavour of food, especially vegetables. It is this ‘terroir' that helps establish the flavour pedigree of a particular region.

Soiled Reputation is blessed with rich, dark, humusy soils, created aeons ago as vast primordial forests decomposed. The resulting soil profiles and microclimate, have created the perfect environment in which to grow top quality produce (think Bordeaux region for vegetables!). Using time-honoured European market garden techniques, and certified organic growing methods, Soiled Reputation has honed the craft of maximizing flavour and quality in growing produce.

Salad mixes, leafy greens, and over 50 vegetables are grown on our 80 acre farm. The land is managed as an ecosytem, and the crops share space with a wide diversity of wildlife, including migratory and resident birds. Antony is an avid birder, so any farm tour with him is bound to turn up a few birds for the ‘life list' as well!

With 14 years cooking experience under chef Neil Baxter of Rundles, Antony understands the culinary needs and standards for chefs and home cooks alike. The farm maintains a stocked cooler of salad greens and seasonal vegetables for the weekend gastronome.
