Savour the tastes of Stratford in Fall
Perhaps with champagne grapefruit vinaigrette over local organic greens. Where else will you find such a concentration of 4-star eating experiences? Here's what Food Sleuth Marion Kane thinks: "A couple of years ago, I decided to leave my home of almost 30 years in the heart of Toronto's feisty Kensington Market to settle in the beautifully bucolic yet culturally hip-and-happening city of Stratford. 'Welcome to the land of Shakespeare, swine and swans,' quipped a waiter at one of its many restaurants when I arrived. Little did he know that I was drawn here, like a hungry bear to honey, mainly because of the food. "In between plays, piano recitals and soothing walk-abouts during frequent visits here, I had made a delicious discovery: Stratford has a culinary obsession. And, for me, finding what I call a 'food town' is a rare and magnificent thing."
