Blyth Festival
The Blyth Festival's 2008 season brings a wealth of comedy, drama and headline news to the stage. Artistic director Eric Coates describes the upcoming play as, "....stories that truly reflect life in this region - on the farm and in the small communities that make Huron County such a fascinating place. It's always been a great joy for our audience to identify with the characters onstage". Four World Premieres: Against the Grain by Carolyn Hay follows one man's rise to power as he sacrifices everything for the sake of the almighty dollar; Harvest by Ken Cameron is based on the true story of a couple that nearly lost their life savings when "a nice young man" turned their Elgin County family into a marijuana grow-op; Courting Johanna by Marcia Johnson - adapted from Alice Munro's Hateship, Friendship, Courtship, Loveship, Marriage and The Steven Truscott Project by Beverley Cooper. The 2008 season runs from June 17, 2008 until September 6, 2008. Afternoon and evening performances available.

Gallery Stratford Exhibit
Heather Goodchild: The Path Of Anna Ward Brouse -
Toronto artist Heather Goodchild provides a visual narrative that follows the inspiration of the founder of a fictional secret society. Anna Ward Brouse is a paragon of truth, beauty and suffragette revelation and her vision channels the rituals and symbolism of Freemasonry, Girl Guides and childhood games. Goodchild's textile stations and portraits evoke feelings of reverence, apprehension and the strange comfort that accompany all ceremonies of passage. Goodchild's skilled craft and facility with all things textile, creates folk images of fictional heroines for those whose histories have been forgotten.
